About Us

The Heartland Roadshow, established in 2009, is a premier buyer of estate jewelry, precious metals, gold and silver coins, and collectibles. If you've ever seen "Antiques Roadshow", this is similar to what we do. We set up boutique "buying events" at various hotel locations throughout the region, where folks come to sell us their estate items - primarily gold, silver, coins, and watches.

Job Summary

Reporting to the department head of Human Resources, the HR Specialist administers key human resources (HR) functions such as candidate onboarding, compensation and benefits, compliance with company policies and processes, basic employee relations and maintaining employee records. This position works with other HR team members to provide employee and management support and foster a positive work environment.

Not applicable; this is a staff position.

Essential Job Duties

  • Responds to employees' questions and concerns and resolves issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Partners with the Recruiting team for identifying hiring and new hire onboarding needs.
  • Administers the new hire onboarding process, including pre-hire communications, employment eligibility processes, collaboration with internal company departments, HR systems set-up, and company policy administration.
  • Oversees benefits administration and partners with the Head of People on first-level issues resolution related to insurance carrier issues/concerns.
  • Completes daily/weekly/monthly HR reporting, and completes onboarding and offboarding tracking reports.
  • Administers the employee offboarding process, including scheduling employee exit interviews, partners with internal company departments for systems and equipment returns, and partners with payroll to deliver final pay in accordance to location's state laws.
  • Assists with delivery employee performance reviews.
  • Partners with HR department team members to provide engaging activities and events for company employees.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a similar role in a fast-paced growth environment.

Preferred, but not Required:

  • Active/current HR certification, such as Professional in HR (HRCI) or SHRM-Certified Professional
  • Prior HR experience in an start-up business environment
  • Prior HR experience in a multi-state environment

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of
  • Strong knowledge of employee pre-employment onboarding processes and/or benefits administration for a mid-size business employees)
  • Good understanding of federal labor laws and pay processes.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and proven customer/ employee experience.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task.
  • Solid problem-solving and team management abilities.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to influence without direct-line authority

Required Equipment Knowledge

  • Experience with Google Business Suite (e.g., Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms, Sites, and Slides)
  • Experience with web- and app-based HRMS/Payroll applications

Pay:$65,000.00 to $ 70,000.00 Annually Annual Salary Range

Base Pay Rate / Salary Range Information

The actual amount offered within the posted salary/pay rate range will depend on a variety of factors, including degree obtained/education, experience, skills and abilities, and other relevant job-related factors. The lower end of salary range applies to candidates who meet minimum qualifications or have limited years of relevant experience; the higher end of range will apply to seasoned candidates with considerable years of direct relevant experience.
