Maintenance Technician

New Journey, a Genesis10 company, is seeking a Maintenance Techncian for a 3-month contract position with the potential for a contract extension or conversion.

Compensation: $21.50 per hour

Seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day maintenance and repair needs of our clients mall property. This hands-on role involves working under the guidance of the Engineering Team to ensure the facility and its equipment are fully operational, safe, and well-maintained.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist engineers in maintaining and repairing building systems and equipment.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance tasks including:
• HVAC troubleshooting and basic servicing
• Electrical repairs (lighting, outlets, fixtures)
• Plumbing (clearing drains, fixing leaks)
• Carpentry (door repairs, drywall, basic framing)
• Painting and general upkeep of interior and exterior areas
• Complete and document all work orders in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, tools used, and materials required.
• Ensure tools, equipment, and supplies are used and stored safely and properly.
• Collaborate with the Engineering team, Operating Engineers, and Chief Engineer to support overall building performance and customer satisfaction.
• Respond to maintenance emergencies or after-hours issues, as needed (on-call rotation may be required).

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training or trade certification a plus.
• 2+ years of facilities maintenance experience in retail, hospitality, or commercial real estate
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Familiarity with safety procedures and building codes.
• Experience using CMMS platforms to track work orders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Must be able to perform physical needs of job.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
