Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Manager to oversee the daily operations of our kitchen in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for food service, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and safety. This role involves managing kitchen staff, ensuring efficient food preparation, and delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate daily kitchen activities to ensure smooth operations.
  • Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
  • Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels to minimize waste.
  • Implement and maintain food safety standards in compliance with health regulations.
  • Train, develop, and mentor kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food handling, and customer service skills.
  • Collaborate with management on budgeting and cost control measures to optimize kitchen efficiency.
  • Handle cash management processes, including POS system operation (Micros POS) for accurate transactions.
  • Ensure high-quality customer service by addressing guest inquiries and resolving any issues promptly.
  • Conduct interviews for new kitchen staff and participate in the hiring process as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and maintained.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in kitchen management or a similar role within the food industry.
  • Strong culinary skills with experience in food preparation, cooking, and fine dining or casual dining environments.
  • Knowledge of inventory control practices and cash handling procedures.
  • Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is preferred.
  • Excellent leadership abilities with experience in team management and staff training & development.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
  • Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
  • Previous experience in restaurant management or hospitality management is highly desirable.
