Position Summary
The Senior Plant Manager role provides day-to-day coaching and guidance to the manufacturing team members. This role oversees the daily operations of the plant and develops strategies to meet production goals while reducing costs. This role reports to the Regional Manager of Operations-West Coast, Regional Manager of Operations-Midwest, or Director of Manufacturing based on location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain the right people in the right seats within the department team to achieve ownership and accountability, providing day-to-day coaching and guidance to department team members to develop them to their fullest potential.
- Direct & manage daily plant operations for production, maintenance, quality, safety, & receiving.
- Manage local scheduling & real-time operations which facilitate the maximization of resources (human & automated) to achieve customer satisfaction, productivity, meet quality standards, schedule adherence & economic goals.
- Participate in formulating and developing long range goals and objectives regarding manufacturing processes to support Prinsco's service standards, procedures & strategic directives.
- Oversee plant activities through the planning with other departments to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely & cost-effective manner, ensuring budget goals are achieved.
- Maintain existing plant facilities & equipment, replacing or adjusting when necessary.
- Compete electric work as per job requirements and training under NFPA 70E electrical and arch flash requirements (based on plant size and plant requirements).
- Oversee, or act as the liaison, for capital improvement projects at the plant location.
- Cascade objectives and operational performance to plant team members.
- Drive continuous improvement in daily thinking and operational activities, delivering consistent results, making suggestions to corporate management on manufacturing efficiency projects & process improvements & assist in budget development.
- Drive Safety (EHS) and be a safety role mode, including Investigating all accidents, determining the root cause, & taking necessary measures to ensure the accident cannot happen again; improving processes & safety training for all team members; striving for zero accidents; participating in safety audits, & meetings; and ensuring regulatory compliance (labor, environmental, transportation, OSHA, etc.).
- Oversee finished goods quality, manufacturing process integrity and customer concern resolution.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts in all areas of the plant that impact inventory accuracy, ensuring that each area follows the established corporate procedures.
- Ensure effective team member relations, monitoring team member performance, providing coaching, and administering discipline with tact and respect while being clear about expectations in accordance with Prinsco's values.
- Work with HR to ensure staffing levels meet manufacturing objectives.
- Work with sales leadership to facilitate planning and production requirements.
- Support the supply chain team on shared tooling, raw materials and finished goods inventory management.
- Provide customer interaction in support of sales team, customer service and dispatch.
- Interface with Development Engineering and Sales/Marketing to coordinate the production process for the introduction of new products.
- Focus on cross-training, continuous learning and improvement.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of ten years of manufacturing leadership experience in multi-site manufacturing required.
- Strong influencing skills with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization.
- In-depth experience with quality processes, inventory management, & continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experienced in or the ability to learn electrical knowledge for this job required under NFPA 70E electrical standard (based on plant size and plant requirements).
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to analyze data/facts/drawings to support valid conclusions and to solve practical problems or deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry, applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Flexibility to travel more than 25% of the time to support other locations.
- Proficient with MS Office products and MS D365.
- Honest and fiscally responsible.
- Visibility of the production floor a minimum of 25% of the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and use hands or reaching with hands/arms occasionally.
- Standing, walking, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling for over 2/3 of the workday.
- Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to differentiate colors.
- Ability to work in a production environment that is not temperature controlled and occasionally in varying outdoor weather conditions.
- Ability to work in a loud noise environment.
