About the search

We're seeking an Executive Director, Retail to lead our in-store experience, retail marketing, and environmental build initiatives for top-tier clients in the consumer tech space. In this senior leadership role, you'll guide the strategy and execution of integrated retail programs spanning new store builds, fixture and display rollouts, carrier environments, and digital retail touchpoints.

You will directly lead a multidisciplinary retail team composed of account and project managers, ensuring seamless delivery across physical and digital formats. You'll also act as a key liaison with retail client leadership—both in the U.S. and Korea—proactively identifying growth opportunities and ensuring our work aligns with evolving brand and business needs.

The ideal candidate brings a hands-on understanding of retail construction, a strong network of production and fabrication partners (including GCs), and a passion for elevating how technology brands show up in the physical world.

About You

Who you are is just as important as what you can do.
  • A strategic, entrepreneurial leader with a passion for building physical retail environments that inspire, inform, and convert.
  • A builder and mentor with a strong track record of leading high-performing retail teams—including account and project managers—toward best-in-class delivery.
  • Highly experienced in managing new store builds, fixture rollouts, and environmental design with a deep understanding of the production lifecycle.
  • Confident collaborating with General Contractors and other build partners to ensure timelines, budgets, and build standards are met.
  • A trusted partner to clients—skilled at developing relationships with both U.S.- and Korea-based retail leadership to grow existing partnerships and identify new opportunities.
  • Calm under pressure, solution-oriented, and excited by the challenge of high-volume, high-stakes retail programs.
  • A natural relationship builder, equally respected by internal teams and external stakeholders.

About the role
Client & Account Leadership
  • Serve as the executive lead for retail programs, guiding strategy, creative development, and operational excellence.
  • Lead and manage a cross-functional retail team comprised of account and project managers.
  • Develop and deepen relationships with client retail leadership across U.S. and Korean markets.
  • Partner with clients to shape the retail vision—from concept to execution—and uncover opportunities to expand scope and impact.
  • Inspire teams to deliver insight-driven, brand-forward retail work that enhances consumer engagement and drives measurable results.
Store Builds, Fixtures & Environmental Execution
  • Oversee end-to-end delivery of retail environments, including:
    • New store builds
    • Fixture builds and rollouts
    • Retail display systems and merchandising solutions
  • Lead planning and execution alongside architects, fabricators, and General Contractors, ensuring structural feasibility, brand alignment, and build excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, technical specs, and brand guidelines.
  • Partner with production leads to maintain quality standards, scalability, and budget accuracy across all physical deliverables.
  • Proven ability to proactively identify and resolve on-site construction issues.
  • Familiarity with build documentation such as construction drawings, material specs, installation guides, and closeout reports.
Operational & Production Oversight
  • Own the successful execution of high-volume, complex programs across retail formats—flagship stores, shop-in-shops, and carrier environments.
  • Implement process improvements that increase speed-to-market, reduce costs, and maintain creative quality.
  • Provide executive oversight of timelines, budgets, and deliverables across national and global markets.
Financial & Business Leadership
  • Drive account profitability, forecast revenue, and manage staffing for assigned retail programs.
  • Lead strategic growth initiatives, working closely with client partners to expand business in retail environments.
  • Support business development efforts, including proposal development and pitch participation.
Agency & Team Leadership
  • Play a key role on the agency leadership team, shaping the vision, process, and operational excellence of our retail practice.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning among your team.
  • Collaborate closely with Strategy, Creative, and Production to deliver holistic, consumer-first retail experiences.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends in retail technology, consumer behavior, and store design to keep the agency and our clients ahead of the curve.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Architecture, or related field preferred; Master's a plus.
  • 15+ years in retail marketing, environmental design, or experiential production with deep experience leading store and fixture builds.
  • Proven success overseeing large-scale retail programs for global technology or consumer electronics brands.
  • Demonstrated experience working with General Contractors and build partners on site development, permitting, construction, and fixture installation.
  • Strong leadership experience managing teams of account and project managers.
  • Excellent client relationship management skills, with experience working across global client teams—especially U.S. and Korea.
  • Financial fluency with experience managing multimillion-dollar budgets and resource planning.
  • A collaborative leader who balances creativity with discipline and business acumen.
  • Open to travel as needed for role responsibilities.
  • Eager to collaborate with the teams at the agency and on-site locations.
Why You'll Love It Here
  • You'll lead the creation of transformative retail spaces for global technology brands.
  • You'll work with a passionate team blending creativity, strategy, and flawless execution.
  • You'll be part of a culture that values curiosity, innovation, and pushing the boundaries of what retail can be.
