Exciting Opportunity at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center: Join the Massagué Lab as a Research Technician

At MSK, we are proud to be at the forefront of biomedical science and research for over 70 years. We are currently looking for a motivated and dynamic Research Technician to support our cutting-edge research team and help drive breakthroughs in cancer research and treatment.

The Joan Massagué Lab is seeking a passionate and motivated Research Technician to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with a postdoc to support ongoing projects focused on metastasis and tumor microenvironment. In this role, you will work hands-on with several laboratory techniques and experimental mouse models to directly support discoveries that can drive progress in cancer metastasis research.

Role Overview:

• Laboratory Support: Order supplies and materials, prepare solutions and reagents, and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure smooth day-to-day laboratory work.

• Techniques & Assays: Perform routine mammalian cell culture, including maintenance, passaging, and experimental setup. Execute molecular biology techniques (Western blot, RNA extraction, qPCR, PCR, IF staining, Maxi Prep).

• Animal Handling: Manage and maintain a mouse breeding colony; perform handling, genotyping, and experimental procedures as needed.

• Data Recording: Keep accurate, well-organized records of experiments; prepare clear, detailed reports; and share results with the postdoctoral supervisor.

• Collaboration: Assist and work closely with postdoc, fostering a team-oriented, supportive environment.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.

• Prior experience with mammalian cell culture, Western blot, RNA extraction, qPCR, PCR, IF staining, and Maxi Prep.
