About Us

The Art Room, Center for Creative Healing, is the only art therapy and counseling practice in Hagerstown, Maryland, built around the belief that creativity helps us uncover healing, balance, and self-understanding. We offer both talk therapy and art therapy services to individuals seeking deeper emotional exploration and creative expression.

We're a small but growing practice, and we're looking for a contract Art Therapist who's eager to grow alongside us. If you're passionate about helping others through the creative process, enjoy a collaborative and flexible work environment, and want to be part of something meaningful from the ground up, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

  • Provide individual and/or group art therapy sessions
  • Maintain clinical documentation, including treatment plans and progress notes
  • Collaborate with our team to develop creative programs and community workshops
  • Bring your own flair and creativity to the work while aligning with our mission and values
  • (Optional) Help with marketing ideas or outreach to grow your own caseload

What We're Looking For

  • Master's degree in Art Therapy
  • Licensed or pursuing licensure in Maryland (LGPAT, LGPC, LCPC, LCPAT, etc.)
  • Professional, ethical, and compassionate therapeutic approach
  • Desire to grow with a creative, evolving practice
  • Experience with trauma-informed, client-centered, or mindfulness-based care a plus
