Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic After School Program Leader to join our team. This role involves overseeing and engaging children in a safe, fun, and educational environment after school hours. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and will be responsible for implementing activities that promote learning, creativity, and personal development.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and ensure the safety of children during after school hours.
- Plan and implement engaging activities that cater to various interests including sports, arts, and academic enrichment.
- Foster a positive environment that encourages social interaction and teamwork among students.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to maintain a conducive learning atmosphere.
- Provide support for children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance and incidents as required.
- Collaborate with other staff members to enhance program offerings.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a childcare, tutoring, or educational setting is preferred.
- Strong classroom management skills to effectively guide children's behavior.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques.
- First aid certification is a plus; willingness to obtain if not already certified.
- Background in early childhood education or special education is highly desirable.
- Skills in sports coaching, theater, or other extracurricular activities are beneficial.
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles.
- A nurturing attitude combined with strong communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and staff.
