Senior Solutions Architect

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Solutions Architect to join our team to support our federal clients. As a Senior Solutions Architect, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business objectives and technology solutions in highly matrixed, complex federal agencies. As a Senior Solutions Architect, you will play a crucial role in driving the success of our clients' new services and solutions by leading the technical development process from ideation to launch. You will be responsible for defining technical roadmaps, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products, solutions, and services that meet market needs.

Responsibilities and Required Skills:

  • Product Strategy: Develop and execute technical strategies aligned with clients' goals, market trends, and customer needs by leveraging industry expertise, analysis and critical thinking.

  • Roadmap Planning: Create and manage product roadmaps, ensuring alignment with organization objectives and prioritizing features and enhancements.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, IT, information security, design, marketing, and sales, to drive product development and successful launches.

  • Business Requirements: Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, document, and prioritize detailed business requirements, ensuring alignment with strategic goals

  • Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate product plans, status updates, and results to internal and external stakeholders. Become trusted advisor.

  • Collaborative Skills in Matrixed Environments: Proven ability to thrive in a highly matrixed multi-organizational structure. Demonstrated experience working effectively with multiple stakeholders, teams, and departments with conflicting priorities. Strong adaptability and interpersonal skills to navigate complex organizational structures and foster collaboration.

  • Experience: 10+ years of architecture experience. Direct experience with United States federal government agency preferred.

  • United States citizen.

  • Ability to obtain a United States federal agency clearance.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Excellent presentation skills.

  • Responsible for designing individual software solutions that meet specific client organization business needs.

  • Work with stakeholders and approved tools in the development of solutions which ensure proposed solutions align with the client organization's overall IT strategy by:

o Strategically assess components to determine whether the overall architecture can support the business requirements and technical objectives.

o Strategically assess existing applications to determine support and service needs.

o For new applications, document user needs, expectations and estimate resource needs, produce mock-ups and/or demonstrational/pilot applications, draft application support plans.

o For both existing and new applications, identify opportunities to avoid duplicate efforts (including interfaces).

  • Develop architecture diagrams, system specifications, and other technical documentation as needed.

  • Identify potential risks and recommend strategies to mitigate them.

  • Ensure that solutions meet regulatory and compliance requirements.

  • Collaborate closely with the Project Manager and Program Manager to ensure client communications are seamless and accurate.

  • Stay up to date on industry trends and emerging technologies and make recommendations for incorporating them into OPTiMO's overall delivery strategy.

  • Participate in project planning and budgeting activities (if necessary).

Technical Requirements:

  • Direct experience implementing cloud-based architectures (AWS, Azure, etc.). Certifications preferred.

  • Demonstrate working knowledge of networking and IT infrastructure/architecture.

  • Direct experience implementing open-source software.

  • Direct experience with implementing modernization platform solutions.

  • Working knowledge of and/or experience with the following:

o GitLab trunk-based development

o CI/CD pipeline automation

o SAS Base software

o SAS Macros

o Python

o Perl

o Korn shell scripting

o Bash shell scripting

o UNIX/LINUX Operating System

  • Ability to adapt to new tools

  • Ability to construct scripts or custom tools to address gaps
