Gray Line Tennessee is Nashville's Leader in Transportation with over 200 vehicles in the fleet and nearly 400 employees dedicated to providing safe, authentic, and professional transportation services. We currently operate five distinct businesses, all of which are oriented toward safety, quality, and customer service.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Shop Foreman to oversee evening shift operations in our vehicle maintenance facility. This role combines supervisory duties with active participation in vehicle repairs, fleet organization, and lot management. The Shop Foreman plays a critical role in ensuring the readiness, safety, and smooth flow of our diverse fleet — including motorcoaches, minibuses, school buses, trolleys, and double-decker buses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and assist with second shift maintenance operations and lot activities
  • Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on gas and diesel-powered vehicles
  • Oversee fueling, dumping, and parking of large commercial vehicles
  • Ensure all vehicles are staged and ready for daily operations
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop and lot environment
  • Coordinate with dispatch, mechanics, and management to meet operational needs
  • Train and mentor shop and lot personnel as needed
  • Monitor and maintain accurate maintenance records and shift reports
  • Report vehicle issues, parts needs, and safety concerns to management
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a commercial vehicle repair shop
  • Valid CDL or ability to obtain one (Paid training available for qualified applicants)
  • Proven ability to diagnose and repair diesel and gasoline engines
  • Familiarity with Ford E-Series, F-Series, and Cummins engines preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to operate large vehicles safely and confidently in tight spaces
  • Comfortable with computers and basic data entry
  • Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Indoor/outdoor shop and lot environment in all weather conditions
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting, climbing, and kneeling
  • Work around moving vehicles and mechanical equipment
