CFO Advisory/Audit Director

We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial
Audit and CFO Advisory Partner/Director
to oversee a well-established portfolio of audit engagements while helping drive the continued growth of an emerging CFO advisory division. This role combines hands-on technical leadership in assurance services with the opportunity to build a high-impact advisory platform focused on strategic financial and operational consulting.

The Opportunity
The successful candidate will manage a mix of recurring and new audit engagements, providing leadership, technical guidance, and client-facing excellence. Over time, the role will expand to include broader advisory and strategic responsibilities within the firm. The right person will balance the rigor of audit practice management with the creativity and initiative required to develop and grow new service offerings.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage audit engagements in compliance with U.S. GAAP and applicable auditing standards.
• Oversee audit engagements from planning through report issuance, ensuring quality, timeliness, and efficiency.
• Supervise and mentor audit staff, fostering professional growth and maintaining high technical standards.
• Provide trusted advisory support to clients, identifying opportunities for additional value and insight.
• Develop and scale CFO advisory services such as budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, and transaction support.
• Collaborate with firm leadership on business strategy, practice development, and client relationship initiatives.

Qualifications

• Active CPA license required.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in public accounting, with extensive experience leading GAAP-compliant audits.
• Nonprofit audit experience a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple engagements and lead professional staff.
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles and current audit standards.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the desire and ability to grow an advisory practice.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.

Compensation & Structure
Competitive base compensation with profit participation or partnership track potential. Flexible structure available for the right candidate, including hybrid or remote options within the Salt Lake area.
