POSITION SUMMARY

M&A Supply Company, Inc. is seeking a delivery driver that will also work in a warehouse position for its branch location in Mobile, Alabama. Drivers are responsible for delivering the products we sell to our customers. Drivers may also be responsible for transferring inventory between M&A Supply branch locations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

At M & A Supply, Drivers are under the direct supervision of the Operations Manager at each branch location. Drivers typically deliver on a route to our established customers. Each branch operation services an approximate radius of 150 miles from their designated branch location. Most trucks are equipped with a lift gate, which the driver must be able to operate in a safe manner. On many occasions, our drivers are required to unload by themselves, as some customers do not have a person on-site to assist in the unloading process. An important part of the unloading process is to accurately check off the correct merchandise at each stop. Drivers are also required to assist in the loading process. When drivers are not delivering they are required to do general warehouse work as instructed by the Operations Manager, including tasks which require the use of a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment.

All Drivers are required to follow safe work practices and obey the rules and regulations of the state's traffic laws. Seat belts must be worn at all times. Drivers are required to attend all company safety meetings and complete any training deemed necessary by M&A, including forklift certification training.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

Drivers must have a DOT Medical Card. Drivers must be able to drive vehicles up to a 26,000 GVWR straight truck with a 26' box and must be duly licensed to do so in the state(s) in which they will be making deliveries. Drivers must be able to operate hand-held, touchscreen devices ("tablets") and Blue Tooth devices (for making and receiving telephone calls while on delivery). Employees in this position must also be able to perform basic tasks using a computer, such as emailing, using a digital time clock, and utilizing M&A's ERP system (Prophet 21) as required. Drivers must also be able to operate a forklift and be duly certified to do so. As mentioned above, M&A will provide the proper training/certification for all employees whose job requires them to use a forklift.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the functions. Drivers must be in excellent physical condition. They must be able to lift a minimum of 100 pounds, climb on and off the trucks and be able to bend and stoop, as well as sit and/or stand long periods of time. Drivers must be able to work in environments—including inside our trucks, in warehouses, at job sites, and outdoors—where the temperature may exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Drivers must also have the physical ability to safely and properly operate our trucks, forklifts, and any other warehouse equipment as needed.

This is a full-time, FLSA non-exempt position with insurance benefits available within 90 days (medical, dental, vision, STD, LTD, etc.).
