JOB SUMMARY
The District Sales Manager (DSM) Trainee is responsible for the successful sale and support of our Commercial HVAC Electric Damper Actuators and Motorized Control Valves. The DSM builds strong relationships with our Customer/Partner, the specialized community of commercial Control Contractors and Control Distributors.

REPORTING STRUCTURE
The District Sales Manager Trainee is part of the Contract Sales Group, reports to the Regional Sales Manager and bears full responsibility for agreed upon goals and objectives.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- In the course of our training program you will spend approximately 6-9 months in Technical Support learning Belimo's product line, assisting customers in the process of sizing and selection of Belimo products, quote generation and troubleshooting field problems. The next 3-9 months will be spent in Product Management assisting Product Managers in developing a strategic, long-term competitive strategy for the product including: identifying new product opportunities, recommending product changes and enhancements, and participating in product elimination decisions. A project will be assigned to you to further your growth and development and to provide support to Product Management. Throughout the Training Program, you will have an opportunity to meet with various members of the Contract Sales Team. Time will be spent on field visits with DSM's and you will be included in various national sales meetings.
- Upon successful completion of the DSM Training Program you will be offered an open DSM position. In the role of DSM, you will be responsible for the successful sale and support of our Commercial HVAC Electric Damper Actuators and Motorized Control Valves within an assigned territory. Our Customers are the specialized community of commercial Control Contractors and Control Distributors
- Maintain and grow existing repeat business through outstanding service, relationship building, product knowledge, and application knowledge.
- Develop and drive new business utilizing "pull through" sales efforts with End-Users and Consulting Engineers for the purpose of acquiring "flat specification" demand for our products.
- Value added approach to sales/support cycle utilizing market knowledge and planning tools.
- Work closely with Product Management and R&D to be "first to market" on new business opportunities.
- Continuous development of product knowledge, application knowledge, and sales style.
- Promote Belimo's credibility culture through personal commitment: respectful, rational, fair and responsible.
REQUIREMENTS
- B.S. degree in Sales, Marketing, or Engineering
- 5 Years of proven track record in a sales and marketing position.
- Experience in the HVAC or related technical field.
- Strong organizational, inter-personal, and negotiation skills are required
- Strong communications and presentation skills are a must.
- Strong technical aptitude and problem solving ability.
- Self-motivated with ability to structure your work schedule and work independently from a home office.
- MS Excel, MS Word, and other basic computer skills are necessary to manage your home office.
- Spanish and English speaking and writing fluency is required
- LEED or other energy efficiency experience is a plus
- Strong technical aptitude
- Dynamic personality with the ability to sell and negotiate
- Travel requirement of 40%
