Reports to:Director, Player Development
Status:Exempt
Primary Objective:
Oversees the daily activity for complex academies in Arizona and the Dominican Republic.Support and assist the Director, Player Development in all facets of staff communication, education, preparation and strategy across both complexes. Consistently communicate and foster a positive "team first" environment and culture.
Essential Functions:
- Consistently communicate with all affiliate coaches, development & technologies personnel, rehab coordinators and high performance staff in regard to the health status, progress and overall development of all players at the Mariners two complexes.
- Assist in creating detailed player plans for all players in the Mariners system (including the complexes), and ensure the maintenance and execution of minor league player plans for all players.
- Ensure the function, application and implementation of all technological and teaching tools in the player development domain. Maintain an intellectual curiosity in researching new technologies and coaching tools.
- Collaborate with the Director, Player Development and other members of BB Ops regarding the planning of the annual player development curriculum, associated literature and high performance/off season camps.
- Assist with the vetting, hiring, onboarding and professional growth plans for all Mariners minor league coaches.
- Prepare and file expenses in a timely, accurate and fiscally responsible manner.
- Conduct annual reviews and provide written year end reviews for all direct reports.
- Will perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree is preferred, playing and/or coaching experience will be considered in lieu of formal education requirements if approved by management.
- Basic Spanish speaking proficiency preferred, not required

Physical Activities and Working Conditions:
- Manage the daily activities, related drills and scheduled work sessions for all staff/players during minor league spring training and other Player Development camps/events.
- Maintain a steady and rhythmic schedule of visits to each affiliate throughout the season.
- Serve as a working coach during the early days of ML Spring Training Camp.
The Mariners are committed to providing competitive pay, perks, and benefits packages for our valued Team Members.
The anticipated starting pay for this role is between $70,000-$90,000. All perks are subject to eligibility requirements and availability and may be modified or amended from time to time.
