Our client, a growing healthcare organization focused on delivering high-quality patient care, is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations, support financial reporting, and strengthen internal controls. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and is comfortable managing multi-entity financials within a regulated industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and month-end close.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules.
  • Maintain accurate multi-entity accounting records and ensure compliance with GAAP and healthcare-related regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance, performance feedback, and development opportunities.
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, revenue cycle, HR, and clinical teams to ensure accurate financial data and support organizational initiatives.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow monitoring.
  • Support annual audits, tax filings, and external reporting requirements.
  • Identify process improvements and implement stronger controls, documentation, and workflow efficiencies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting for leadership and assist with ad hoc financial analysis as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within healthcare, multi-location, or high-volume environments.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and familiarity with healthcare revenue cycle concepts.
  • Experience managing or mentoring accounting staff.
  • Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems; advanced Excel skills required.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and deadlines.
