Job Description:
The Planning Specialist is a key member of the Merrill Transition Management team, focused on supporting Financial Advisor (FA) recruits as they transition their books of business from contra firms to Merrill. This role works closely with Branch Office Leadership to ensure seamless coordination and execution of onboarding activities. The specialist serves as a central point of contact, facilitating communication between Market Leadership, business partners, Broker/Dealers, and technology teams. Additionally, they manage incoming requests from across the organization, including senior leadership, to deliver a smooth and efficient transition experience for FA recruits.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the end-to-end onboarding process for new recruits, ensuring a seamless and timely experience.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Market Executives and Branch Leadership through regionalized support model
- Oversight of the discovery calls with onboarding recruits to discuss transition and book of business
- Conduct detail review of recruits' book of business to determine portability
- Act as the central contact for inquiries and escalations throughout the recruit transition
- Hosting onboarding readiness call with branch office and product partners prior to recruit arrives
- Liaise with key business partners and product partners prior to and throughout recruit transition
- Conduct and coordinate all post transition reviews
- Collaborating across operational teams and product specialists to resolve urgent branch-related requests
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in the field
- Extensive Wealth Management Product Expertise.
- Strong relationship building mindset
- Strong organizational and communication proficiencies with keen problem-solving, decision-making expertise and the ability to multitask.
- Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Effective verbal, written communication skills and detail oriented.
- Commitment to Integrity & Policy Adherence
Desired Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree preferred or Industry service experience equivalents.
- Flexibility to perform well in a changing environment as job duties and expectations evolve.
- Ability to think analytically while effectively managing and finding resolutions to complex situations independently.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple job-related duties including day to day tasks and project work.
Minimum Education Requirement: High School Diploma / GED / Secondary School or equivalent
