Commercial Flooring Sales Representative

The Commercial Flooring Sales Representative is responsible for managing client relationships, managing projects and developing new business opportunities, and driving sales growth. This role requires a proactive approach to business development, strong industry knowledge, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The position reports to the Vice President of Project Management and the President and is a key member of the project management team.
• Develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients, including end-users, architects, and general contractors, to drive sales and business growth.
• Actively pursue new business opportunities in the Cincinnati, Dayton, and Northern Kentucky regions.
• Assist clients with product selection, project planning, estimating, pricing, product specifications, presentations, and value engineering for complex projects.
• Act as the face of the company, engaging deeply in project management to ensure labor productivity, quality, and professionalism.
• Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, superintendents, and construction engineers to ensure the project meets design and quality expectations.
• Maintain a strong project backlog and contribute to the company's ongoing sales pipeline.
• Understand and negotiate project schedules with clients and internal teams, developing effective strategies to ensure successful project completion.
• Procure materials in a timely manner, aligning with project schedules and proactively managing logistics.
• Create installation subcontracts or labor force budgets within estimated project values.
• Collaborate with internal operations teams to assign the best-suited installers based on skill level, project size, and availability.
• Provide field productivity expectations and ensure installation quality through effective coordination.
• Generate shop drawings and installation work orders for field operations.
• Attend project meetings and resolve any project-related issues efficiently.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Industry Knowledge: Commercial flooring experience preferred but not required. Must have a solid understanding of flooring products.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a polished and professional presence.
• Technical Proficiency:
o Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and CRM software (Salesforce).
o Experience with Callidus or other estimating/drafting software is a plus, with a willingness to learn if needed.
• Project & Sales Expertise:
o Ability to read and interpret commercial blueprints, specifications, and scopes of work.
o Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to take direction, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
o Experience in project management, estimating, and sales strategy development.
