The Athletic Coordinator plays an exciting role supporting the planning, organization, and day-to-day operations of the Park District's athletic programs. This position offers a mix of office and field work, with flexible daytime, evening, and weekend hours averaging up to 28 hours per week. The start date is anticipated for November or December.

Salary: $20/Hr.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Assists the Athletic Supervisors with creating, organizing, promoting, planning, and evaluating assigned athletic programs.
  • Collects and processes team and participants' payments for various athletic programs
  • Assists in preparing coaches' packets, coaches' and players' manuals, and other informational materials as directed
  • Assists Athletic Supervisors with uniform ordering and distribution, as needed
  • Word processes a variety of documents, forms, and reports
  • Attends work regularly
  • Performs the job safely and in compliance with District policies, procedures, work and safety rules, and the employee handbook
  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment
  • Additional functions as assigned, which may be considered essential

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience supporting athletics program development and operations.
  • Proficient in organizing and maintaining clerical and digital records, and generating reports.
  • Strong communication skills to handle inquiries via various channels and interact professionally with staff, vendors, and the public.
  • Committed to delivering excellent customer service and promoting Park District values.
  • Able to work independently with general guidance and manage time effectively under pressure.
  • Team-oriented with leadership abilities and the capacity to build positive working relationships.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and ability to maintain composure in challenging situations.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other basic computer applications.
  • Sound judgment, problem-solving, and confidentiality awareness.
  • Ability to pass defensive driving training and travel between Park District sites.
