RIVA plays a key role in strengthening CMS's oversight capabilities by delivering secure, cloud-based infrastructure, DevOps automation, CI/CD pipeline optimization, and application modernization services that enhance data integrity, system performance, and operational efficiency across the federal health insurance ecosystem.

Position Overview

RIVA Solutions is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our CMS HIOS modernization program. This is a junior-to-mid-level role that will help build, automate, and optimize CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and deployment processes while supporting a secure and compliant DevSecOps environment.

The ideal candidate is eager to learn, technically driven, and comfortable working in Agile delivery teams. This role contributes directly to improving CMS's ability to oversee health plan data and maintain high-availability systems critical to federal health operations.

  • Monitoring & Logging: Configure and maintain monitoring dashboards and alerts using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk.
  • DevSecOps Integration: Implement security controls, scanning, and IAM best practices within CI/CD workflows.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with developers, cloud engineers, testers, and product teams to support continuous delivery.
  • Documentation: Maintain high-quality technical documentation for pipelines, environments, scripts, and automation components.

Minimum Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder with 3+ years of U.S. residency and ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance.

  • Hands-on proficiency with AWS services, including IAM, EC2, S3, ECS, RDS, VPC, or CloudFormation.
  • Experience automating deployments and environment configurations via CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of Docker and containerized application deployment.
  • Experience with IaC tools: Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
