My client, a leading civil engineering firm in Florida, is seeking a strategic and results-driven
Business Development Manager
to expand their transportation and infrastructure portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in securing work with the
Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT)
, hold a
Professional Engineer (PE) license
, and demonstrate the ability to bring in and manage projects successfully.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement business development strategies to grow my client's presence in the Florida transportation market.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with FDOT, local municipalities, and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead the identification and pursuit of new project opportunities, including proposal development and client presentations.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure alignment between business development efforts and project delivery.
  • Stay informed on market trends, competitor activities, and client needs to guide strategic planning.
  • Represent my client at industry events, conferences, and networking functions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
    in Florida is required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on transportation.
  • Proven success in
    winning work with FDOT
    and other public agencies.
  • Strong network of industry contacts in Florida.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple pursuits and projects simultaneously.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with design-build and alternative delivery methods.
  • Familiarity with FDOT procurement processes and standards.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to business development.
