CompanyQualcomm Technologies, Inc.Job AreaOperations Group, Operations Group > Product ManagementGeneral SummaryQualcomm is looking for a Staff Product Manager - Software for its Industrial and Embedded IoT Business Unit to help define and promote Qualcomm chipsets for emerging use cases in various IoT segments. Successful candidate will define software product requirements, analyze business opportunities, perform gap analysis, drive execution, and help with go-to-market plans and global customer engagements. In addition, the candidate is expected to prioritize use cases while working closely with customers, engineering, sales, and business development teams. Furthermore, the candidate will also function as a central resource with design, process, manufacturing, quality, test, marketing, and distribution as the product(s) and/or product line(s) move through their lifecycle. Lastly, the successful candidate will formulate and execute long-term roadmaps for cost/profit control and promote use of new technologies and industry-leading trends.The position requires strong expertise in business and systems analysis, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate and influence key stakeholders within Product Management team and across various functional teams.The Key Responsibilities Of This Role IncludeWriting software product and functional requirements considering inputs from various internal and external stakeholders.Define and coordinate software product definition and execution globally. Make decisions that are significant in impact.Define the multimedia (camera, video, computer vision, audio, display, graphics) roadmap of features across various IoT business segments and publish plan for commercialization.Coordinate with Product Management teams across various business units to maximize leverage and return of investment for multimedia technology advancement in both silicon design and software products. Oversee successful cross-functional collaboration by ensuring the completion of milestones and ensuring the completed work aligns with roadmap.Coordinate on reference hardware definition and execution to achieve end to end solution with advanced multimedia technology, peripheral and connectivity.Reviews and identifies gaps in market based on complex analyses of overall ecosystem demands and provides recommendations to address such gaps that impact product roadmaps.Review customer RFPs, feature and performance requests, assess technical feasibility at system level, prepare proposal and solution, and define execution plan.Using verbal and written communication skills to convey complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels. May require strong negotiation and influence, communication to large groups or high-level constituents.Having a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to provide input on key decisions).Independently complete tasks that require multiple steps that can be performed in various orders; tasks require simultaneously executing multiple cognitive abilities and maintaining information in short- or long-term memory.Exercising exceptional creativity to innovate new ideas and develop innovative products/processes without established objectives or known parameters.Occasionally participates in strategic planning within own area affecting immediate operations.This is an office based position located in San Diego, CA.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Humanities, or related field.5+ years of Product Management or related work experience.Preferred QualificationsAdvanced degree in engineering or computer science or MBA5+ years of Product Management experience managing complete cycle of products from concept to commercialization, defining product requirements document, change requests and prioritization of commercial feature requests.Deep understanding of embedded software engineering principlesDeep understanding of multimedia (camera, video, computer vision, audio, display, graphics) technology and frameworks based on Android and LinuxUnderstanding of various peripherals interface, standards, and related protocols, connectivity, security, and AICustomer engagement experience with understanding of entire product cycle from definition to commercialization to maintenance.3+ years of software product management experience managing medium to large scale embedded systems projects.Solid understanding of multimedia technology theory and applicationsUnderstanding of toolchains, package policies, boot flow, open-source frameworks, kernel and upstreaming procedures, containers, orchestration and virtualizationEffective communication skills with cross functional teams, both technical and non-technical, within a fast-paced, collaborative, innovative environment, including experience in discussing complex ideas with partners, customers, and executivesQualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
