Growing Engineering/Gas company looking for an experienced Logistics Coordinator

About the Role

As a Logistics Coordinator, you will play a key role in planning and managing logistics for our projects. Your responsibilities will include conducting onsite logistics assessments to ensure smooth equipment transport to job sites, leading national and international market research, and managing vendor relationships and contracts.

What You'll Do

  • Develop comprehensive logistics plans for project execution
  • Conduct onsite logistics studies to verify equipment transport feasibility
  • Perform market analysis both nationally and internationally to stay informed about logistics trends
  • Facilitate vendor pre-qualification processes
  • Manage competitive bidding for freight services
  • Negotiate contract rates and discounts with logistics providers
  • Oversee all shipping methods and deliveries to vendors and project locations
  • Evaluate and handle international letters of credit requirements
  • Maintain value analysis tools to support project estimating
  • Prepare freight cost estimates and process related invoices
  • Issue purchase requisitions and orders for transportation services
  • Coordinate shipments with suppliers
  • Prepare documentation for shipping and customs clearance
  • Assess vendor performance and work on vendor development
  • Assist in preparing invoice schedules

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Administration, or equivalent experience
  • At least 2 years of logistics, scheduling, or project management experience within engineering, construction, or freight forwarding
  • Experience with ERP systems is preferred
  • Familiarity with international shipping processes
  • Knowledge of permit loads, heavy haul transport, and project shipping is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, SAP, and other relevant software

  • Pay Rate: $28 - $38 per hour
  • Duration: 6 months with potential extension
  • Location: Tonawanda, NY (On-site, Monday - Friday)
