The Role

The Senior Manager of Transaction Accounting will report directly to the Associate Vice President of Transaction Accounting. They will be responsible for providing support for transactions, including acquisitions and other investments, and partnering with key stakeholders to ensure complex transactions are properly accounted for and disclosed. A successful candidate for this role will be strong in both technical accounting research and analytical skills and have strong leadership, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills. They will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment on complex accounting issues.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist Structured Transactions and Development Finance teams in evaluating potential transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, capital commitments, joint ventures, and other investments
  • Partner with Corporate Accounting, Financial Reporting, Finance teams, and other stakeholders to understand, analyze, and report complex accounting matters
  • Perform complex accounting research, most notably under U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations, and prepare or review technical accounting memos to support conclusions
  • Provide accounting guidance to the monthly Development and Asset Management Committee process
  • Review new and/or amended contracts and provide feedback on accounting implications
  • Lead purchase price allocations with external advisors, including review of valuations and supporting documentation
  • Oversee and review certain quarterly fair value updates, including contingent consideration arrangements
  • Prepare and/or review certain disclosures in the Company's SEC filings
  • Work with external auditors to provide support on technical accounting conclusions and valuations
  • Coach, supervise, and mentor senior accountants
  • Demonstrate a commitment to Hyatt's core values

Qualifications

Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • 8+ years of experience in public accounting and/or industry accounting roles
  • Excellent project management and communication skills

Experience Preferred:

  • Experience working in technical accounting, accounting advisory, M&A accounting, or a similar role
  • SEC and financial reporting experience
  • Financial ERP / Reporting system knowledge (Hyperion preferred)

The salary range for this position is $108,800 to $145,000. This position is also eligible to earn an annual bonus. The final pay rate/salary offered to the successful candidate will depend on experience, skill level and other qualifications for the role, as well as the location of the performance of work. Pay for the successful candidate will meet local requirements, including the local minimum wage rate.
