Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled SNF Based Respiratory Therapist to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality respiratory care to patients in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in respiratory therapy, with experience in various clinical environments, including acute care and critical care. You will be responsible for assessing patients' respiratory needs, administering therapies, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine respiratory therapy needs
  • Administer respiratory therapies including ventilator management, airway management, and medication administration
  • Monitor vital signs and evaluate patient responses to treatments
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Provide education and support to patients and families regarding respiratory health and treatment options
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities and progress
  • Ensure compliance with medical terminology and standards of practice in respiratory therapy
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the facility

Experience

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Hospital medicine experience with a focus on acute care settings
  • Background in emergency medicine, critical care, or pediatric intensive care unit (PICU)
  • Familiarity with operating rooms (OR) and ventilator management
  • Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to respiratory therapy
  • Previous experience in inpatient settings such as ICU or level I/II trauma centers
  • Ability to perform patient assessments, including vital signs monitoring and pulmonary evaluations
  • Experience in outpatient clinics or geriatrics is a plus
