We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established regional bank seeking a Commercial Credit Director. This is a leadership position responsible for managing the bank's commercial credit function, ensuring sound credit decisions, and maintaining portfolio quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the commercial credit department.
  • Manage and support a team of credit analysts and credit officers.
  • Review and approve commercial credit requests within delegated authority limits.
  • Monitor credit quality and recommend risk mitigation actions as necessary.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of credit analyses and reviews.
  • Develop and maintain credit policies, procedures, and risk rating guidelines.
  • Collaborate with relationship managers, senior leadership, and risk management.
  • Support regulatory and internal audit reviews as required.
  • Provide training and mentorship to credit staff.
  • Contribute to credit portfolio reporting and analytics.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in commercial credit, including underwriting and portfolio management.
  • Prior experience leading or managing a credit team.
  • Strong understanding of commercial lending principles and credit risk assessment.
  • Familiarity with regulatory guidelines related to commercial lending.
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field.
