Broadcom's market leading products are enabling the next generation of AI and cloud storage.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist in the design and implementation of firmware for new integrated circuit productsDevelop quality software using best practices for all phases of the software design life cycle – analyze requirements, design solutions, code, test, and supportCollaborate with senior engineers on system architecture - collect information on HW and SW requirements and specifications from project stakeholders, including customersProvide support to PCB and SI engineers for full system designTest manufactured HW and SW modulesAssist with firmware integration and bring-up of new hardware and emulated hardwareDebug embedded software using typical lab equipment like in-circuit emulators and logic analyzersAnalyze new customer feature requests and opportunities to continuously improve the productCollaborate across multiple teams to root cause and resolve issuesThe Successful Candidate Will:Thrive in a cross-functional development environment. You know how to solder, run wires, and think on your feet. You are familiar with common embedded systems debugging equipment – DMMs, Oscilloscopes, in-circuit emulators and logic analyzers.Have a passion for continuous improvement and a commitment to creating excellent user experiences.Really love coding and the science of computer and software engineering. You are constantly learning and are familiar with modern practices in the discipline.Be familiar with common repositories like Git/GitHub, and open source languages like Python. You version control your work and automate your builds. You know a C and C++ toolchain like the back of your hand and know your way around an OS and how to write a shell script.Exhibit strong teamwork skills as part of a fast-moving, multi-site team.Minimum QualificationsMaster's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer EngineeringProficient in C and PythonSelf-directed and motivatedPreferred QualificationsExperience with hyperscaler systems and architecturesUnderstanding of distributed computingAdditional Job Description:Compensation and BenefitsThe annual base salary range for this position is $73,000 - $117,000. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.Broadcom offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package: Medical, dental and vision plans, 401(K) participation including company matching, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), company paid holidays, paid sick leave and vacation time.
