Senior Director, Digital Employee Experience

The Senior Director, Digital Employee Experience (DEX) is responsible for developing and executing the strategy for digital workplace devices, capabilities, and services to enhance the digital employee experience (DEX). This role oversees all digital workplace functions, including operations, governance, enablement, and engineering, ensuring the continuous improvement of technology adoption and digital dexterity within the organization.
This position will partner with key stakeholders to align digital initiatives with business outcomes and take a data-driven approach to optimize the relationship between technology investments, employee experience, and business performance. Additionally, in partnership with key business representatives, this role champions the modernization of workforce technology, fosters a culture of enablement, and ensures compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
Responsibilities- Oversee business unit technology product development on all strategic business platforms and product configuration, business solutions development utilizing the enterprise architecture, data acquisition and integration from all internal/external sources and third-party partners, and user interface design to promote and maintain overall positive customer experience.
- Deliver technology leadership and direction to business unit leaders including solutions and capability for new agile product development with differentiation.
- Provide leadership to all product development, platform and data integration functions and staff including career development and leadership succession.
- Stay abreast of technology industry and market trends to set the strategic direction of the internal and external developed products.
- Establish and oversee agile product development methodologies and smooth transition to DevOps process with all relevant Core Services functions.
- As part of the IT senior leadership team, facilitate the technology governance to guide product development decision making with senior leadership.
- Provide guidance on the techniques and tools to use to achieve product goals on time and on cost, while managing product risk.
- Act as escalation point for key product issues.
- Robust knowledge of business re-engineering principles and processes.
- Advanced knowledge of financial models and budgeting.
- Strong ability to analyze the current I.T. environment to detect critical deficiencies and be able to recommend solutions for improvement.
- Advanced understanding of business goals and objectives as they relate to customer use cases and solutions.

- Ensure the development of an implementation plan for product development/integration based on business requirements and I.T. strategies.
- Balance the long-term ("big picture") and short-term implications of individual decisions.
- Knowledge of application lifecycle development methodology; must be able to manage large product efforts across business units and be able to effectively prioritize multiple product lines within varying deadlines.
- Bachelor's degree or master's degree in an area of specialization required.
- Minimum 10 of related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing employees / leading a team preferred.
- Must have a strong understanding of operational technology (OT), industry control systems, relevant technologies, their applications and how it interfaces with business systems.
- Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments.
- May require certifications and licensures needed to meet Energy industry, federal, state, or local regulations.
The New York Power Authority is committed to providing fair, competitive, and market-informed compensation. The estimated salary range for this position is: $179,000 - $224,400. The salary offered will be determined based on the successful candidates' relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
