SDL Search Partners is partnering with a rapidly growing private equity backed global organization with a strong U.S. presence based in the Andover, MA area. This firm is looking to add an Accounting Manager to play a key role in financial leadership and growth.

Overview:

The Accounting Manager will oversee all aspects of financial reporting, accounting, and analysis for the U.S. business unit. This role manages two Senior Accountants (and two indirect Accounting Assistants) and serves as a key finance business partner to senior leadership, providing insight, analysis, and strategic guidance. Designed as a succession planning role, this position offers a clear path to Finance Director and future oversight of full U.S. finance operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of two Senior Accountants and two Accounting Assistants
  • Oversee financial reporting, general ledger accounting, treasury, cash management, internal controls, tax coordination (with external advisors), and payroll
  • Review and analyze sales reports, commissions, and financial results prepared by the accounting team
  • Deliver accurate, timely financial reporting and presentations to senior leadership
  • Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic FP&A initiatives
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and scalability across finance functions
  • Support strategic decision-making in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
  • Prior management experience overseeing accounting and/or finance staff
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
  • Hands-on experience with financial systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with experience interacting with senior leadership
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
