HR Specialist
to join our Houston office and play a key role in attracting, onboarding, and supporting top scientific talent across the U.S.
Position Summary
The
HR Specialist
will take the lead in full-cycle recruitment and onboarding, serving as the first point of contact and "face of hiring" for new employees. This role will also provide general HR support across multiple areas, including employee engagement, compliance, and performance support, while helping strengthen Sino Biological's workplace culture and brand presence.

Key Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition & Recruitment (Primary Focus) -
- Lead full-cycle recruitment efforts, from drafting job descriptions and posting roles to screening applicants, coordinating interviews, and preparing offer letters.
- Partner with hiring managers and technical teams to design and conduct interviews, including communicating and administering technical interview questions.
- Represent Sino Biological at local career fairs, networking events, and university programs to strengthen employer branding and talent pipelines.
- Maintain recruitment metrics, track progress, and identify process improvements for a more efficient hiring experience.
Onboarding & Engagement -
- Coordinate and facilitate onboarding activities to ensure a smooth transition for new hires, including coordination of visa and immigration documentation.
- Conduct regular onboarding check-ins and serve as a resource for new employees during their first months.
- Support employee engagement initiatives that foster connection, belonging, and collaboration across the organization.
HR Administration & Compliance -
- Assist in maintaining HR documentation, personnel records, and compliance with federal, state (particularly Texas), and local employment laws.
- Support policy implementation and ensure consistency across offices and states.
- Assist with day-to-day HR operations such as benefits administration, employee relations, and performance tracking as needed.
Collaboration & Culture Building -
- Partner with the team to enhance company culture, communication, and retention strategies.
- Be an approachable and trusted resource for employees, providing guidance and support on HR-related matters.
- Act as a brand ambassador for Sino Biological: friendly, professional, and passionate about people.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of HR experience, preferably in recruiting, onboarding, or HR Specialist functions.
- Familiarity with
Texas employment laws
required; multi-state experience preferred. - Ability to understand and convey technical and scientific interview questions (with training provided) effectively with candidates.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Comfortable attending job fairs, networking events, and interacting with candidates and stakeholders.
- Proficient in Google Suites and ADP HR system.
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
- Must be able to lift and move 25–50 lbs.
