Detroit, Michigan, United States Birdstop Full time

Company

Birdstop, Inc. is an American drone technology company. Made possible by its recent breakthroughs in regulatory approvals and AI systems, Birdstop drones can operate continuously in a fully automated mode without personnel onsite. Birdstop systems actively serve our nation's critical infrastructure and public safety organizations with rapid response capabilities.

Role

We are hiring our first marketing team member. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role for someone who wants to help define how a category-defining company tells its story to the world. You will work directly with the leadership team and closely with sales and product to translate Birdstop's technology into clear, credible messaging that accelerates adoption with government and enterprise customers. The role will initially lean toward PR, communications, and sales enablement, with broader marketing responsibilities expanding over time.

Candidate

We are seeking an execution-first marketer with a strong bias toward action and experience as one of the first marketing hires at a company. You are highly resourceful and fast, preferring to ship creative solutions yourself rather than wait on additional resources. You are a strong writer with experience across multimedia tools, measure results obsessively, and communicate Birdstop's story clearly both online and in person. You are not motivated by a traditional corporate ladder - you are motivated by taking bold risks with exceptional people and doing what it takes to pioneer a new industry.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Sales Enablement
  2. [1 per month] Build a minimum of 1 new customer case study each month geared toward accelerating sales in that vertical/geography.
  3. Build and maintain sales-critical materials including pitch decks, one-pagers, and customer leave-behinds with feedback from the Sales team.
  4. Work with Leadership and Sales to translate new engineering functionality into customer facing messaging and materials.
  5. Press/Communications
  6. [2 per week] Develop and distribute a minimum of 2 public-facing communications per week using a mix of owned, earned, paid, and shared channels.
  7. Ensure a consistent voice, narrative, and visual identity across all external communications.
  8. Manage Birdstop's subscribers and newsletters.
  9. Savvily monitor and manage public feedback - including criticism - arising from high-visibility or unconventional communications.
  10. Events
  11. [1 per quarter] Lead at least 1 major Birdstop 1st party event each quarter.
  12. [4 per month] Source, attend, and represent Birdstop in at least 4 events put on by partners or 3rd parties relevant to Birdstop objectives.
  13. Coordinate with Leadership and Sales on messaging, presence, and materials for conferences, trade shows, and customer-facing events.
  14. Digital Marketing
  15. Maintain baseline SEO and SEM performance to ensure Birdstop's online presence is credible, accurate, and discoverable.
  16. Run limited paid digital experiments to test messaging and amplification effectiveness, iterating based on performance.
  17. Update website and relevant online assets when necessary.
  18. Creative
  19. [1 per quarter] Lead the creation of at least one bold, high-impact creative initiative per quarter, partnering with external multimedia or creative collaborators as needed.
  20. Metrics/ROI
  21. Track usage and performance of marketing assets, campaigns, and events, and use results to continuously refine priorities and execution.
