Position Summary:

If you are an engineering student looking for an opportunity to grow and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, then Design Ready Controls has an exciting opportunity for you This position will assist with New Product Introductions (NPIs), process flow diagrams, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), process control plans, quality metrics, lean projects, and more

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside quality team members (primarily Quality Engineers) to observe, learn, and execute.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to map out and document the NPI (New Product Introduction) process.
  • Assist with the development of Quality Plans, interfacing with Quality Engineers and/or the Quality Manager.
  • Learn the basic elements of Production Part Approval Processes (PPAPs) and First articles as it relates to Quality Plans and NPIs.
  • Assist with developing control plans for assembly operations to improve efficiencies and effectiveness.

  • Participate in the company's quality circles to solicit feedback from operators and inspectors.

  • Update control plans based on feedback from Quality Engineers.
  • Participate in formal 8D activities as requested.
  • Assist with continuous improvement activities (lean projects) as identified.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality department.

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Must be actively enrolled at a two- or four-year higher education institution.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Good organization skills with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and administrative skills.
  • Acute attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 10 hours until Spring Semester ends, then it will switch to 40 hours a week.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time on occasion.

Compensation: $19.00 p/h

Benefits: Earned sick and safe time

This is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. Base salaries are determined by taking a variety of factors in account, including, but not limited to, candidate qualifications, education, geographic locations, market conditions and internal equity.
