Supplier Quality Engineer

Opportunity available for a Supplier Quality Engineer. In this role you will provide leadership and oversight to ensure suppliers consistently deliver high-quality products while supporting the development of supplier capabilities. This role involves building strong supplier relationships, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure quality standards are understood and met.
- Conduct on-site supplier visits to monitor production, communicate concerns, and coordinate corrective actions.
- Review raw materials and components to ensure compliance with specifications and contract requirements.
- Maintain accurate supplier inspection records and documentation.
- Assist in supplier performance evaluations and support training initiatives for continuous improvement.
- Lead or participate in root cause analyses and corrective action projects.
- Conduct internal and supplier quality audits as needed.
- Support first article inspections and ensure compliance of incoming parts.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain) to address quality-related process improvements.
- Track KPIs such as supplier rejections, scrap, and corrective action plans.
- Actively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, recommending and implementing enhancements to quality processes.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer or in product inspection/manufacturing quality roles.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
- Understanding of inspection processes, specifications, drawings, and measurement techniques.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Knowledge of quality reviews, machining, materials (steel/stainless steel), welding, and supplier audits preferred.
Travel
- Approximately 20% travel to supplier locations for inspections and relationship management.
Competitive compensation and benefits package, for eligible employees. The salary range for this type of role is approximately $105, $110,000.00 annually. This range is an estimate and not a guarantee of compensation. The final rate will be determined by factors such as experience, market trends, and specific job assignments.
