Fort Collins, Colorado, United States Anduril Industries Full time $190,000 - $252,000 per year

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century's most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril's family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

What You'll Do
As a (Principal/Senior) RFIC Design Engineer, you will help to build a team that delivers state-of-the-art RFIC capabilities for Anduril's RF products. You will be a key contributor to the design, simulation, and verification of high-performance RF integrated circuits from concept to mass production. You will work with other silicon engineers, product engineers, and outside partners to build a world-class team and capability portfolio.

Responsibilities
Circuit design: Develop and design complex RF/Analog/Mixed-Signal circuits and blocks, including but not limited to:

  • Multi-channel beamforming
  • Low-Noise Amplifiers (LNAs) and Power Amplifiers (PAs)
  • Mixers and Oscillators (VCOs)
  • Phase-Locked Loops (PLLs)
  • Filters, switches, and attenuators
  • Simulation and verification: Architect, design, and simulate RF and Mixed Signal circuit IPs, performing analysis of noise, linearity, mismatch, and stability.
  • Oversee layout and verification to ensure a successful tape-out.
  • System collaboration: Work closely with systems engineers, firmware teams, and layout designers to define specifications and optimize circuit designs for overall system performance.
  • Product validation: Characterize, evaluate, and debug silicon in a lab environment. Collaborate with product engineers and outside manufacturing partners to bring ICs to high-volume production.
  • Optimization: Perform trade-off analysis for performance, power, and area to create cost-optimized solutions.
  • Documentation: Generate comprehensive design documentation, test reports, and specifications.
  • Vendor Management: Identify and work with outside vendors as necessary to support design, development, manufacturing, packaging, and testing of custom RFIC components.

Minimum Qualifications

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in RF/analog/mixed-signal integrated circuit design.
  • Experience with RFIC circuit design and simulation tools, such as Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre RF, ADS, and HFSS.
  • Hands-on experience with RF lab equipment, including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and signal generators.
  • Knowledge of basic device physics and semiconductor technologies (SOI, SiGe, GaN, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct tape-out experience with one or more RFIC blocks, such as Phase Shifters, LNAs, PAs, mixers, or PLLs. Experience in high-frequency design in the X-Band, Ku-band, and higher ranges.
  • Phased Array Design Experience
  • Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools like EMX or HFSS. Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or MATLAB for automation and data analysis.
