Job Description

We are the OEM of a next-generation Part 23 business jet and are currently seeking a Fatigue Test Quality Inspector to support our full-scale structural test program. This role is critical to ensuring compliance with FAA certification standards and requires experience in conformity inspections, aerospace quality systems, and airframe fatigue testing.

The successful candidate will work closely with certification engineers, test teams, and FAA representatives to ensure all test articles and configurations meet regulatory and internal airworthiness standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed quality inspections on full-scale airframe structures and components being prepared for and subjected to static and fatigue testing.
  • Execute and document FAA conformity inspections in accordance with Part 23 certification requirements.
  • Ensure all test hardware, installation, instrumentation, and configuration meet approved engineering drawings and conformity requirements.
  • Support coordination with FAA Designated Airworthiness Representatives (DARs) and internal certification staff for timely conformity approvals.
  • Review manufacturing and material documentation for compliance, including traceability, lot control, and proper certification (e.g., CoC, FAIR).
  • Inspect and verify assembly procedures, part markings, and hardware configurations used in structural test rigs and fixtures.
  • Maintain accurate and organized inspection records, logs, and conformity documentation.
  • Identify and report non-conformances, support root cause investigations, and assist in implementing corrective actions.
  • Assist in audits and reviews to support FAA compliance and AS9100/ISO9001 quality system requirements.
  • Provide input to improve internal processes for test article tracking, inspection, and certification readiness.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in aerospace quality inspection roles, ideally within a test or R&D environment.
  • Demonstrated experience completing FAA Form conformity inspections on behalf of an OEM.
  • Working knowledge of FAA Part 23 regulations and aircraft certification processes.
  • Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, test plans, and assembly procedures.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, certification, and manufacturing teams.
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required (per ITAR and FAA access requirements).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with business jet or general aviation airframes under Part 23 certification programs.
  • Strong understanding of full-scale structural and fatigue testing in a development/certification setting.
  • Prior experience with full-scale test programs (wing, fuselage, empennage).
  • Exposure to NDT, instrumentation inspection, or fatigue crack detection techniques.
  • Experience interfacing directly with FAA ACO or CM Section (formally MIDO) personnel and/or its designees.
  • Familiarity with digital quality management systems and inspection documentation tools.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in and around large test fixtures and structural rigs.
  • Standing, climbing, and occasional lifting (up to 40 lbs) may be required.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in lab/hangar environments.

Why Join Us?

As the OEM of a cutting-edge Part 23 business jet, you'll be part of a dynamic team pushing the boundaries of modern aviation. Your expertise will directly support a successful FAA certification effort and help bring a clean-sheet aircraft to market.
