Job Description:
Senior Quantitative engineers in Global Risk are responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of common, reusable, and scalable software components. These components enable GRM's data and analytical capabilities. These components can be domain independent (e.g., generic data quality tools over billions of rows of data) or domain specific (e.g., classification models for surveillance or testing framework for Global Markets processes). Senior Quantitative engineers work with senior modelers, risk managers, and technologists to understand the current state and design the future state of data and analytics. Senior Quantitative engineers have a combination of software engineering, big data, modeling and management skills and the ability to work across the entire spectrum of a big data stack – from data to logic to model to UI to UX.
Responsibilities:
Drive forward Business, Product and Project Management capabilities across GRQE. In particular:
Support Tech Lead of in managing the team , particularly timely and effective delivery of the book of work, removing roadblocks for the team and make the team operate more efficiently
Support COO in driving out future strategy for GRQE
Responsible for driving forwards multiple concurrent projects, particularly the implementation of models onto the organization's target-state infrastructure and adoption of modular and reusable components, ensuring adherence to team business practices as well as Enterprise project governance and Change Management standards
Support effective delivery through strong project management practices and provision of project management expertise to modelers and test owners
Provide business support to GRQE COO as necessary – this may include capacity planning, reports and returns, hiring activities, managing routines, etc.
Drive Operational Excellence across GRQE through leading identification and implementation of change activities
Explore opportunities to automate project management and business management processes and reporting
Explore ways to optimize the team operating model for project management and business management practices
Soft Skills:

Experience implementing strategic process improvements and/or automation
Proven track record of building relationships and effectively influencing key stakeholders
Adept at detecting and remediating organizational / process weaknesses and deficiencies
Feels ownership and accountability for delivering high quality work, able to balance multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
Strong written, verbal, presentation creation and delivery skills, typically to very senior audiences
Well organized with attention to detail
Willing to challenge the status quo and with a track record of driving change
Minimum Education Requirement:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a closely related field, or a degree from a program where software engineering was a key focus or equivalent work experience
7+ years of relevant work experience
Qualifications:
At least 7 years of relevant experience in Business or Product or Project Management
Self-motivation, self-direction, organizational skills with the ability to understand deeply technical areas quickly, ability to organize projects, manage multiple projects, multiple stakeholders
Strong leadership skills - Ability to foster strong collaboration among team members and help solve problems
Experience in financial services or a related field
Experience of business management and project management in a fast-paced organization
Strong influencing skills
Strong communication skills; able to work with senior management
Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
Demonstrate intellectual curiosity to drive forward opportunities for improvement
'Control' oriented experience and mindset
Working knowledge of risk management
Additional helpful skills:
Experience of Quantitative Engineering
Experience of model development and the Model development lifecycle
Excellent proficiency and hands-on experience with JIRA (Horizon tools)
Working knowledge of risk management
Programming skills including Python, SQL – or the desire to learn these skills
