Position Overview

Tefco Fabrication is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day production operations and drive efficiency across all departments. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong background in metal fabrication, production scheduling, and process improvement. This role requires the ability to coordinate personnel, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and ensure deadlines are met with the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all fabrication, assembly, finishing, and shipping operations to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
  • Manage and mentor team leads, ensuring accountability, safety, and performance standards are met.
  • Plan and prioritize daily production activities based on project timelines and shop capacity.
  • Collaborate closely with project management, engineering, and fabrication teams to ensure clear communication of job requirements and deadlines.
  • Monitor material inventory, job staging, and workflow to prevent bottlenecks.
  • Implement and track efficiency improvements, including labor utilization, setup time reduction, and overall shop productivity.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe facility in compliance with OSHA and company standards.
  • Review and improve shop processes, including quality control and documentation procedures.
  • Participate in hiring, training, and evaluating team members.
  • Report directly to ownership on production progress, labor hours, and project status.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in metal fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial operations management.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication workflows, including cutting, forming, welding, and finishing.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints, job travelers, and production schedules.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles or similar process improvement methodologies preferred.
  • Computer proficiency in scheduling and management software (Excel, ERP, or job tracking systems).
  • Demonstrated ability to balance productivity, quality, and safety.

Pay is based on overall experience and proof of application of Manufacturing principles and techniques.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
