Job Summary

A leading aerospace manufacturer in Westfield, MA is seeking an experienced CNC Milling Programmer to develop, optimize, and support multi-axis CNC programs for high-precision aerospace components. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize CNC programs for multi-axis milling using NX CAD/CAM software.
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T requirements to ensure dimensional accuracy.
  • Validate programs through Vericut simulation and make necessary adjustments prior to production.
  • Create comprehensive setup and tooling sheets for machinists.
  • Select and design appropriate tooling while determining optimal speeds, feeds, and cutting parameters.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve tooling and programming issues directly on the shop floor.
  • Continuously review and refine existing programs to improve cycle time, tool life, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with machinists, engineers, and production leads to ensure seamless workflow.
  • Maintain adherence to all safety and quality standards within a precision manufacturing environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of CNC milling programming experience with multi-axis machines.
  • NX CAD/CAM proficiency required.
  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T, and advanced machining principles.
  • Hands-on experience with 4- and 5-axis CNC milling preferred.
  • Proficient in Vericut for program verification and optimization.
  • Background in aerospace or other high-precision manufacturing strongly preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of machining strategies, tooling selection, and metal cutting parameters.
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or technical degree preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Typical manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, oil, and cutting fluids.
  • Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • May alternate between time on the shop floor and programming at a workstation for extended periods.
