Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Receptionist/Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in providing excellent customer service and support within a veterinary or animal care environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in animal handling and a passion for providing quality care to pets and their owners. You will be the first point of contact for clients, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere while assisting with various administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Greet clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism as they arrive at the facility.
  • Schedule appointments and manage the calendar for veterinary services.
  • Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and preparing animals for examination.
  • Handle phone inquiries, providing information about services, appointment scheduling, and general pet care advice.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient information, treatments, and medications administered.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the reception area and waiting room.
  • Assist in managing inventory of supplies, including medications and pet care products.
  • Provide support during procedures as needed, including animal handling and medication administration.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care facility is preferred.
  • Familiarity with animal handling techniques, including dog handling and equine care.
  • Experience as a Veterinary Assistant or in a laboratory setting is a plus.
  • Knowledge of veterinary critical care practices is beneficial but not required.
  • Skills in medication administration and animal catheterization are advantageous.
  • A strong commitment to pet care and customer service excellence is essential.
