Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of medications to patients. You will work closely with pharmacists and healthcare professionals in a hospital setting, providing exceptional patient service and contributing to critical care initiatives. Your expertise in medication administration and medical terminology will be essential in supporting patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide excellent patient service by addressing inquiries and concerns regarding medications.
  • Maintain accurate records of medication administration, including IV infusion preparations.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and hospital policies related to pharmacy operations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize patient care and medication management.
  • Conduct inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications.
  • Utilize medical terminology effectively to communicate with healthcare professionals regarding patient needs.
  • Support the training of new pharmacy staff or interns as needed.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is required.
  • Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of medication administration processes and critical care protocols.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals and patient care.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service and teamwork.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with IV infusion techniques is a plus.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to best practices in pharmacy operations.
