Store Shift Supervisor – Pet Supplies Plus

Location: New Braunfels, TX

Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

As a Store Shift Supervisor, you're pawsitively passionate about people and their pets. You'll deliver exceptional, neighborly service while keeping our store running smoothly. On any given day, you might:

  • Help a neighbor pick the perfect toy for their fetch-loving Lab.
  • Show a fourth grader how to test the water in his fish tank.
  • Lead by example — providing fantastic, efficient, and friendly service.
  • Support the store's leadership team by reinforcing daily operations and performance expectations.

All while engaging with our neighbors (customers) and smiling through plenty of puppy breath.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with store leaders to learn and uphold Pet Supplies Plus standards and daily management routines.
  • Provide leadership coverage, including acting as manager-on-duty up to four times per week.
  • Follow operational policies and procedures (cleanliness, animal care, safety, and security) to ensure top-notch service.
  • Manage back-office tasks such as inventory management, price updates, signage, and cashier records.
  • Participate in recruiting, onboarding, and developing team members.
  • Communicate opportunities to improve community engagement and store performance.
  • Jump in as a team member when needed — stocking shelves, running the register, or assisting neighbors.

What Makes You PAWsome:

  • 2+ years of retail experience, including ordering and inventory management.
  • Strong sales and customer service skills — you love helping people as much as pets.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort learning new systems.
  • Ability to operate store equipment (including forklifts) and safely lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Reliable transportation, flexible scheduling availability, and ability to pass a drug screening (where permitted by law).
  • Social media or community engagement experience is a plus.
  • Strong time management, organization, and leadership skills.
