Billing Analyst

The Billing Analyst is responsible for compiling and reviewing data to prepare accurate and timely customer invoices. This role ensures rates and fees are calculated correctly, transactional data is complete, and invoices are delivered on schedule. The analyst also supports monthly close processes and works with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and validate billing information to ensure accurate invoicing.
- Verify the accuracy of rates, charges, and applicable fees using rate books and customer agreements.
- Audit operational documents to confirm completeness and consistency.
- Revise invoices as needed and research billing discrepancies.
- Work with carrier statements to track and confirm timely payments.
- Prepare and transmit invoices to customers.
- Support Accounts Receivable with accrual data and monthly close activities.
- Generate basic billing reports for internal use.
- Identify minor process improvements and escalate recurring issues.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through timely and professional communication.
Requirements
Qualifications
- 1+ year of Billing or Finance-related experience
- High comfort level with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent)
- Strong Excel skills, including use of formulas and data validation
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some post-secondary or specialized education preferred
- Self-motivated with the ability to work with general supervision
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
