The D. E. Shaw group seeks a talented market intelligence and partnerships lead to join its GenAI Business Strategy and Transformation (GAIBiz) team. GAIBiz accelerates GenAI adoption and opportunity identification across the firm by providing a commercial, human-centered perspective that complements technology and markets expertise. This individual will play a pivotal role in connecting the firm's internal and external AI communities, driving engagement with the broader GenAI ecosystem, and sourcing market intelligence to inform firmwide strategy. The role will help ensure the firm remains at the forefront of AI innovation by facilitating strategic partnerships and synthesizing competitive insights. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, help build a team and function, and contribute to a culture of innovation and responsible AI adoption.
What you'll do day-to-day
Track and synthesize frontier research, competitor activity, and vendor developments to inform the firm's GenAI strategy.
Identify and develop targeted partnerships, managing the full lifecycle from scouting and diligence through negotiation and rollout, and serve as a single point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders.
Curate and run events and roundtables that connect firm talent with leading voices in the AI community and publish briefings and reports for senior leadership and the wider firm.
Partner with Internal Communications to ensure that key insights and success stories are shared across the organization, while maintaining C-suite touchpoints and supporting roadmap synchronization.
Who we're looking for
A bachelor's degree is required along with at least eight years of relevant experience in roles such as developer relations, community management, or strategic partnerships, within the technology or AI sector.
Demonstrated ability to build and nurture professional communities, manage complex partnerships, and synthesize market intelligence for executive audiences.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience curating events and facilitating high-level stakeholder engagement.
Keen organizational and relationship management skills, with a collaborative approach and the ability to operate effectively across diverse teams.
Proven interest in, and understanding of, all things AI, including its technical underpinnings, commercial applications, and societal impacts.
The expected annual base salary for this position is $225,000 to $325,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
