We provide compassionate, person-centered care that promotes independence and long-term wellness across the DFW area.

Position Summary

We are hiring a Certified Peer Support Specialist to provide recovery-focused services. The Peer Support Specialist uses lived experience to inspire hope, model recovery, and support participants in achieving personal goals while working alongside a multidisciplinary team (QMHPs, RNs, LCDCs, Service Coordinators).

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group peer support in the community and in participants' homes.
  • Use lived experience to promote recovery, wellness, and self-advocacy.
  • Encourage engagement with treatment and natural supports.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with Texas HHSC and agency standards.
  • Participate in supervision, team meetings, and required training.

Qualifications

  • Active Texas Mental Health Peer Specialist (MHPS) or Recovery Support Peer Specialist (RSPS) certification approved by HHSC.
  • Minimum one year in recovery from mental health or substance use challenges.
  • High school diploma or GED (college coursework preferred).
  • Valid Texas driver's license, insurance, and reliable transportation.
  • Must pass criminal background and OIG exclusion checks.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred

  • Experience working with HCBS-AMH, LMHA/LBHA, or similar community behavioral-health programs.
  • Familiarity with HHSC service plans and documentation requirements.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (training available).

Compensation & Benefits

  • $22 – $26/hour (based on experience and certification).
