Billing Representative Job Description

Abeo Billing, LLC provides billing services to optometrists nationwide. We are looking for an onsite candidate that is detail oriented, multi-tasker, self-motivated, and has a positive attitude to join our billing department.

The Billing Representative will be responsible for collecting, posting and managing account payments, submitting claims, and following up with insurance companies. The billing representative will also be responsible for insurance and patient A/R as well as patient phone calls. The billing representative will need to have knowledge of medical and vision billing.

Billing Representative Duties include:

· Knowledge of Optometric coding and billing

· Process claims for products and services to patients Vision Plans and/or Medical Plans as applicable

· Knowledge of Optometric terminology

· Maintaining communications with insurance carriers to ensure accurate and timely reimbursements EOB postings

· Maintain AR collections within 45 days posting

· Verify patient data for accurate billing

· Reconciling insurance payments into the software

· Process monthly patient statements

· Resolve patient billing inquiries and/or complaints

· Ensures practice awareness of changes in Insurance procedures/policies

· Maintains HIPPA compliancy

· Appealing corrected claims where needed

BILLING REPRESENTATIVE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required:

· Prior experience in an optical or medical office support position

· 2 year experience with medical and vision insurance

· Experience interacting with customers or patients as well as administrative and office experience

· Knowledge of medical office flow

· Ability to operate a computer and basic office equipment.

· Extremely detail oriented and self-motivated

· Excellent written and oral communication skills

· Knowledge of Excel

· High School diploma
