Job Description
Job Description:We are seeking a highly organized Scheduling Services Specialist / Registrar Scheduler to coordinate and manage patient appointments while ensuring accurate registration and data entry. This role plays a key part in delivering efficient patient access and a positive healthcare experience.
Key Responsibilities:Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments
Register patients accurately in the system (demographics, insurance, referrals)
Verify patient information and insurance eligibility
Coordinate with clinical departments and providers
Manage appointment templates and provider calendars
Handle incoming calls and patient inquiries professionally
Maintain compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies
Resolve scheduling conflicts and ensure optimal clinic flow
Required Skills & Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent (Associate/Bachelor's preferred)
1–3 years of experience in healthcare scheduling or patient registration
Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, etc.)
Strong communication and customer service skills
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in hospital or multi-specialty clinic settings
Familiarity with insurance plans, referrals, and authorizations
Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
