Crisis Connections: Crisis Connections has been responding to calls for help and serving as a community safety net since 1964. We offer an array of support services that are free and easily accessible addressing "all things crisis". Our core programs include: the 24-Hour Crisis Line, King County 2-1-1, Teen Link, WA Warm Line, WA Recovery Help Line, and support after suicide services. With over 350 trained volunteers and 160 staff, CC provides support, resources and certified training for King County and other communities statewide.

Overview
The Youth Services & Outreach Training Specialist (YSOTS) plays a key role in advancing youth wellness and prevention education across schools and community settings. This position is equally divided between training and outreach delivery (50%) and coordination and materials management (50%). The specialist supports the Teen Link program and Crisis Connections' mission by equipping young people and community partners with tools and knowledge to promote mental health, substance use prevention, and harm reduction.

Primary Responsibilities (50%) – Youth Training and Outreach

• Partner with the Lead SUD Clinician to develop and deliver Suicide Prevention, Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Prevention, and Harm Reduction trainings for youth in schools and community organizations.
• Facilitate engaging, age-appropriate presentations for students, ensuring alignment with city, county, and school district contracts.
• Represent Teen Link and Crisis Connections at community outreach events, including school activities, fairs, and conferences.
• Maintain flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends in alignment with scheduled outreach events and partner needs.

Secondary Responsibilities (50%) – Scheduling and Outreach Coordination

• Coordinate training schedules and outreach activities in collaboration with internal teams, including reporting and marketing departments.
• Support the design, production, and inventory management of outreach and marketing materials.
• Track and ensure fulfillment of contractual deliverables for training and outreach events (city, grant, and county-funded).
• Oversee the distribution of outreach materials such as Where to Turn for Teens booklets to promote awareness of community resources.
• Participate in community meetings, workshops, and conferences to foster partnerships and expand program visibility.
• Supervise volunteers at outreach events and provide logistical support for community engagement efforts.
• Collect and manage training participation data to ensure compliance with regional suicide prevention and wellness initiatives.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid position, requiring both remote and in-person work.

• Field work: Traveling to schools and community sites for trainings, presentations, and outreach events.
• Office work: Preparing outreach materials, managing program logistics, and coordinating upcoming events and trainings.

Knowledge and Abilities

• Knowledge of youth services and community resources in Washington State preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to connect with and support adolescents across diverse backgrounds.
• Proficiency in virtual presentation tools and audio-visual technology for training and outreach.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social services, education, public health, or a related field.
• One year of experience working with youth in clinical, school, or community settings (preferred).
• SUDP/T or behavioral health certification highly desired.
• Valid Washington State driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
• Availability to work occasional evenings, mornings, and weekends as required.

Requirements
Computer Skills Assessment
: Crisis Connections requires a basic Computer Skills assessment to measure computer literacy and skills. The assessment is approximately 15 minutes in length, and timed. HR will provide a link to complete the test after screening qualified candidates.

• This assessment will be completed on the candidate's personal computer. Upon request, candidates may take the assessment at one of our 2 office locations as an accommodation. Additional accommodations for the assessment are provided upon request.

Technology Requirement:

• Smart phone with ability to download the Microsoft Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) application.

For Remote / Hybrid positions

• High speed internet (wired ethernet connection preferred). No Cellular or Hotspots.
• A quiet and confidential designated working area.

Working Conditions:
Individuals in this position should be able to sit or stand for lengthy periods of time. Individuals will need to be able to wear a headset or earphones as they take calls and attend meetings. Individuals will need to manage several IT/software platforms at once and be able to function in an environment with moderate noise and distraction.

• This position will expose you to conversations about suicide, mental health issues and staff responding to crisis situations.
