Chicago, Illinois, United States The Kryder Law Group, LLC Full time

The Legal Case Manager at The Kryder Law Group is a key member of our personal injury team, working closely with attorneys, Medical Records Specialists, and Insurance Specialists to ensure each case progresses efficiently and every client receives outstanding service. This role requires someone who is highly motivated, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable about every stage of a personal injury matter, from intake through settlement or litigation handoff.

The ideal candidate not only communicates well with clients but also understands how to analyze liability, treatment, and damages to strengthen each case.

Core Responsibilities

· Serve as the main point of contact for clients, providing updates, answering questions, and ensuring all concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.

· Manage all aspects of assigned cases, from intake through pre-litigation resolution.

· Call and follow up with clients regularly to gather missing information, check treatment progress, and ensure engagement throughout their case.

· Coordinate property damage and medical payment (Med Pay) claims to assist clients in recovering their losses quickly.

· Order and track medical records, bills, police reports, and videos while ensuring documentation is complete, accurate, and consistent.

· Search public records and identify additional evidence or supporting documentation relevant to liability and damages.

· Document every communication—client calls, emails, adjuster discussions, and provider interactions, within the case management system.

· Communicate directly with insurance companies, medical providers, and lienholders as needed to move cases forward efficiently.

· Assist clients in finding appropriate medical care and follow up to ensure appointments are attended and treatment plans are completed.

· Identify red flags early (policy limits, causation issues, treatment gaps, missing records) and escalate them strategically to attorneys.

· Collaborate closely with attorneys to develop strong, evidence-backed demands and prepare for negotiation or litigation handoff.

· Maintain strict deadlines and task tracking within the case management software.

Knowledge & Expertise

· The ideal candidate must have strong working knowledge and hands-on experience with:

· The personal injury claims process from intake to settlement

· Auto insurance claims and property damage issues

· Uninsured and underinsured motorist benefits (UM/UIM)

· Medical payment (Med Pay) benefits

· Insurance policy limits and subrogation issues

· Workers' Compensation claims

· General personal injury concepts and terminology

· Medical records, billing, and damages documentation

Technical & Administrative Skills

· Proficient in ordering and reviewing medical records, police reports, and public records

· Skilled in documenting damages such as lost wages and out-of-pocket costs

· Experienced in case management software (Smokeball, Filevine, or similar)

· Organized, detail-oriented, and tech-savvy with excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Capable of managing a high volume of cases while maintaining accuracy and responsiveness

Who You Are

· A high-performing, self-motivated professional who takes full ownership of every case

· Proactive, you don't wait to be told what to do; you anticipate what's next

· Empathetic yet assertive, balancing compassion with results-driven focus

· A communicator and problem-solver, not just a messenger

· Someone who thrives in a team environment but can operate independently

· A critical thinker who understands how each detail contributes to a strong settlement outcome

Requirements

· Minimum 1 year of experience in a personal injury law firm (required)

· Strong understanding of all key aspects of personal injury matters (required)

· Spanish language skills a plus but not required

· Familiarity with case management software preferred

· Ability to manage time and prioritize effectively in a high-volume environment
