Job Summary
A Records Analyst is needed for an engineering consulting company in the Torrance, CA area. This job is responsible for supporting records management processes by ensuring compliance with document retention policies, coordinating with departments and IT teams, and analyzing data to improve recordkeeping and support business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct information-gathering sessions with departments to inventory documents.
  • Create and/or update Document Retention Schedules by department.
  • Coordinate and verify that system updates related to records are completed correctly.
  • Assist with physical inventory remediation: Review and classify documentation per retention schedule & Identify responsible departments for records.
  • Assess IT systems to ensure recordkeeping aligns with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and maintain complex Excel spreadsheets (advanced formulas, pivot tables, macros).
  • Independently manage project workload, multitask, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
