Empire Automotive Group – Payroll Specialist (Full-Time)
Location: Corporate Headquarters, Huntington, NY
Empire Automotive Group is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our corporate team. This full-time role is pivotal in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing across multiple dealership locations within our network.
As the Payroll Specialist, you will oversee end-to-end payroll operations for assigned dealerships, including hourly, salaried, commission-based, and flat-rate technician compensation. You'll maintain payroll records, reconcile timekeeping data, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and union-specific labor regulations. This role requires close collaboration with dealership controllers, HR personnel, and Dealership managers to support a workforce that spans sales, service, parts, and administrative functions.

Your daily work schedule:
- Prepare and process weekly payrolls by utilizing ADP Workforce Now, by reviewing time sheets for accuracy, recorded vacation, sick time, etc.
- Working closely with assigned dealership(s) management, entering new hires, terminations, deductions changes, etc.
- Maintain appropriate payroll records in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.
- Review wages computed and correct errors to ensure accuracy of payroll.
- Onboarding new hires.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and compliance on all work matters.
- Other duties as assigned by their manager.
Qualities we're looking for:
- Minimum of 2 years of payroll experience, preferably within a multi-location or dealership setting
- Proficiency in ADP Payroll systems; experience with ADP Workforce Now and union payrolls strongly preferred
- Advanced Excel skills and fluency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with HR processes and terminology, including tracking of PTO, commissions, bonuses, and incentive structures within payroll software
- Strong understanding of technician flag time, flat-rate pay structures, and sales commission models
