Airswift is partnering with a leading mining organization to recruit a Mid-Range Mine Engineer for a permanent position based in Northern Minnesota. This role is critical to developing mid-range mine plans and the Annual Operating Plan, and it offers excellent long-term stability and career progression within a company that has significant reserves and a strong safety culture.
What You'll Do
- Own the Annual Operating Plan and rolling forecasts, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Translate long-range pit designs into detailed toe-crest designs.
- Develop medium-term plans for shovels, cables, and critical infrastructure such as roads, powerlines, and sumps.
- Conduct risk assessments and maintain the Risk Register to proactively address operational challenges.
- Ensure seamless integration between short-range (0–3 months) and mid-range (3–12 months) mine plans.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams through regular mine tours and compliance reporting.
- Perform quarterly forecasts, SWOT analyses, and identify bottlenecks impacting production.
- Lead the development of annual quality and tonnage targets.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Mine Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, or Civil Engineering.
- Proven experience in mine planning (short, medium, or long range).
- Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions.
- Familiarity with mine planning tools such as MineSight, AutoCAD, GPS surveying instruments, and dispatch systems.
- Understanding of mine planning in relation to costing and financial impacts.
